Following a successful four-year tenure as a Regional plugger & promoter for EMI, Jo Hart went on to help set up the highly successful Size Nine Promotions. Three years later she decided to go it alone and created Jo Hart PR in July 1997.
From these seeds Hart Media was born. Hart Media leads the way in Regional, Specialist (National and Regional) Student/College/University and Online Radio promotions. Along with Online PR, Management Consultancy, International Promotions and Publishing.
In the years since its inception it has built up rock-solid foundations with the key players in the Music and Radio industries and excels in getting the very best results for its artists. Hart Media prides itself on the close relationship it has with its Heads of Music, Specialist DJs, Online PR and Student/College/University DJs. These are relationships that have been nurtured and developed through the years thanks to Hart Media’s friendly, knowledgeable and diligent team.
Over the years Hart Media has been behind the success stories of campaigns for Blondie, Jamie Cullum. Britney Spears, Jools Holland, The Gossip, Agnes, The Proclaimers, Gallows, Moloko, Bob Sinclar, The Pretenders, Gary Jules, Justin Timberlake, M People, Dame Shirley Bassey, Enter Shikari, Roll Deep, The Overtones, Johnny Marr, Bernard Butler, Siouxsie Sioux, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Usher, Alison Krauss, Sash!, Robert Miles, Republica to name but a few.
If you’re looking to help break your artist or simply carry on their fine name, Hart Media should be your first port of call for all your National Radio, Regional Radio and TV, Specialist and Student Radio, Online PR, Management Consultancy and International needs.
David Bianchi (Various Artists Management & Vision Artists)
I have worked with Jo and the team at Hart Media for a number of campaigns and have never been let down! The results they have achieved for us are amazing and I would recommend them to anyone.
Kat Kennedy & Tim Parry (Big Life Management)
It’s always a pleasure working with Jo Hart and her team, they are experts in their field and achieve strong results from their promotion. They have put together impressive promo schedules for our artists to get the best out of regional radio trips, and are full of great ideas for each campaign. I’d recommend them to anyone.
Dave Rogers (MITA Records)
Without exception, Jo Hart and her team at Hart Media are the absolute best in the business. Their process is simple – tell them what you want, and they deliver it. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
In my 18 years as a tour manager I can with hand on heart say that NO media company has come close to the level of professionalism that Hart Media reaches. Jo Hart and her amazing team go above and beyond something the so called “major” players in the same line of work never seem to achieve.
Gary Howard (The Agency Group)
I have had the pleasure of working with Hart Media for many years and with a variety of bands, both young and established. Jo is always positive and delivers every time – knowing you have a team that will work as hard as you on a project is what you want. I love working with Hart Media and they are always my first choice.
David Rowell (Autonomy Music Group)
I have worked with Jo for over 15 years. She is an incredible professional and has an innate understanding of the music business and the needs of artists and their representatives. She has an enviable roster and can work artists in every genre with foresight and immense detail. Hart Media is a reflection of Jo’s leadership. Diligent, friendly and the best in their field. I can highly recommend working with Jo and her team. You will not be disappointed.
Rachael Sage (Mpress Records)
We have worked with Hart Media for a half dozen of our releases now, and they have become a vital, integral part of our promotional team in the UK. From helping lineup on-air radio performances to servicing regional radio to helping oversee our broader touring and distribution efforts, Jo Hart and her hardworking staff are organized, detail-oriented, creative and enthusiastic. Most importantly, they are excellent at what they do and have the contacts needed to help our artists continue to build a strong presence in the UK market.
As the world of popular music continues to develop and excite at a furious pace, you need committed and diligent promotions team that will deliver for you and your artist across the UK time and time again.
Student & Specialist
Specialist DJs and tastemakers can often be the first to support and champion new music, and can often be instrumental in their rise to fame, and not only in the initial stages of the act’s life.
We oversee all aspects of our artists music careers and with our long list of contacts and solid relationships within the business, both here in the UK and abroad.
With many years experience in the music business, our goal is to dedicate all our efforts to help and assist artists develop their craft cohesively.
The big cheese, the main fromage, the tip-top Edam. Is there anything Jo hasn’t achieved in the music business? Okay, so she never sang with Elvis or played a flaming banjo but other than that there isn’t much else she hasn’t done. After joining EMI back in 1990 as a mere slip of a lass, Jo has gone on to work with everyone from Jools Holland to Justin Timberlake and has been plugging independently for a whopping 18 years. Oh and Chris Moyles thinks she has great legs too. Does life get any better?
Raised in the Shire and apparently born with more chest hair than Pete Sampras, one might think our newest team member was recruited from Middle Earth. However far from the mythical realm, in the heart of Tileyard Studios we are joined by ex-Hooker Joe Hamilton. A keen Rugby player and professional eater (he will devour ANYTHING), Joe has a wealth of experience in Management, A&R and live performance.
To be really honest, we hired Hannah the moment she told us she was a healthcare advisor. The way we see it, it never hurts to have a doc in the office. We made sure she had some ties to music, though: a degree in popular music performance, actually, with added digital marketing experience. So far, she’s proved her worth in all areas, medical and musical. But really, we can’t help but love a girl whose cure-all is a can of Diet Coke.
George is what we here at Hart Media like to call an ‘interesting one’ (which is a bit rich, coming from us). With ties to Mick Jagger (or his grammar school at least), George is a man of wild aspirations, with plans on being a professional milkshake critic and opening an animal sanctuary. Fortunately for us, we snatched him and his questionable Japanese language skills up before that had a chance to pan out. If you ever want a good laugh, ask him about the time he was attacked by a chicken. No, seriously.
Hailing from East London (though she’ll never let go of her Essex roots), Daisy joins the Hart Media team after a stint at one of the worlds more upmarket food provider’s. She indulges her music interest by running a music blog, and insists that the pieces about One Direction are written by her sister – whether we believe her, well… When she isn’t bowing down to her queen – Her Majesty Taylor Swift – or catching us up on her fictional boyfriend George Ezra, you can catch Daisy popping down to the Waitrose around the corner to grab (what she personally admits as) an unhealthy amount of Nutella.
Congratulations to Skindred who’s album ‘Volume’ got to #29 in the UK Album Chart. With their live tour in full swing and the band relentlessly touring across the UK and Europe, the band are going from strength to strength and we expect even bigger things from them in 2016.
Congratulations to Jo Hart today who received her prestigious award. Through her hard work in the music industry over the years she has been acknowledged by Music Week by being listed on 2015s ‘Women In Music’ Honour roll.
Well done once again to Jo for being honoured on this prestigious list. This joint venture from Music Week, UK Music and AIM, launched last year to recognise and celebrate the most successful female executives from all areas of the industry. There will be a celebratory lunch at the Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington, on November […]
