Nineties lovers, brace yourselves. East17 are bidding for a new Christmas No.1 bid and it’s giving off serious 90s vibes.

The trio of Terry Coldwell, Robbie Craig, and Joe Livermore have released their new single “Merry Quitmas” – hoping to repeat the success of the iconic 1994 hit “Stay Another Day”.

In partnership with quit-smoking campaigners, Riot Labs, the new single was released this morning and is already racking up thousands of downloads.

The edgy lyrics highlight the dangers of smoking, using Santa discovering he’s contracted an illness from puffing on cigarettes. East17 will be embarking on their own quit-smoking journey in a bid to ditch the cancer sticks for good too – and proceeds from the single will be donated to cancer charities.
