Pavey Ark are a Cinematic Indie-Folk band from Hull in the UK. Atmospheric vocals, strings and horns glide over finger-picked guitar, melodic bass and complex percussion. The result is a beautiful cinematic folk sound that evades immediate comparison. Upon further listening, the band’s wide range of influences start to reveal themselves. From the laid-back 60s & 70s folk of Jackson C. Frank and Rodriguez, through to Nick Drake and Radiohead. The band have become known for their beautiful live shows. They played one of the main stages at Glastonbury 2022 (Acoustic stage Fri pm) – a huge achievement for an independent act and are set to headline Stage 3 at Cambridge Folk Festival 2023. Other live bookings include Moseley Folk Festival, Cornbury and support slots with This Is The Kit, Badly Drawn Boy, Bille Marten, The Unthanks, Willy Mason.

Pavey Ark’s debut album “Close Your Eyes and Think of Nothing” received wonderful reviews from UNCUT, Record Collector, Folk Radio and BBC 6 Music airplay from Mark Radcliffe / Chris Hawkins. Pavey Ark are a band at the top of their game and fast becoming one of the must see acts on the UK alternative folk scene.
